World Swimming Championships, fear for Anita Alvarez who passed out in the water.
She almost died after passing out in the water. There were moments of intense fear yesterday in Budapest, where the World Swimming Championships are taking place: U.S. champion Anita Alvarez was competing in the final of the free synchronized singles when she collapsed at the end of the exercise. She remained unconscious underwater for several seconds, then her coach realized what was happening and dove in to save her.
Doctors and paramedics took the athlete to the infirmary, where she was later declared out of danger.
