Mexican rapper Mariel Semonte Orr, better known by his stage name Trouble, passed away at the age of 34.
The musician was involved in a fatal shooting on Saturday night. He had been performing the same day, just hours before the incident.
Orr’s death was confirmed by his label, Def Jam Recordings. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Trouble’s children, loved ones and fans. A true voice for his city and a source of inspiration for the community he proudly represented,” the label wrote on Twitter.
The day before his death, the rapper wrote on Twitter that he would travel the streets of Atlanta with caution.
In April 2011 the musician released his debut album. In 2018 and 2020, two of his studio records were released, and remixes appeared on some of his hits. In 2013, XXL magazine listed Orr as one of Atlanta’s 15 rappers to know.
