At the time of his arrest in flagrante delicto, this Monday (11), the anesthesiologist doctor Giovanni Quintella Bezerra reacted with astonishment to learn that he was filmed raping a pregnant patient during a cesarean section.
Upon receiving an order of arrest from Police Station Chief Bárbara Lomba, the doctor was told that the flagrante was motivated by a video. He raised his head and asked, “video?”
Giovanni was indicted for rape of a vulnerable person, the penalty for which ranges from 8 to 15 years in prison. See below:

The Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Cremerj) opened on Monday (11) a process to expel Giovanni.
Clovis Bersot Munhoz, president of Cremerj, said that “the scenes are absurd”.
The investigation
The investigation was based on complaints from the hospital’s nursing staff that filmed the anesthesiologist putting his penis in a patient’s mouth while he was delivering her baby.
The recording, which was handed to the police, was made by the doctor’s co-workers after suspicions arose that he was sexually abusing the patient.
The doctor’s co-workers became suspicious because of the amount of anesthetic the professional was using and the strange movements he was making when the patients were isolated.
Based on this suspicion, the nursing team decided to place a cell phone in the region where the patient was isolated to film. This is how they discovered that the anesthesiologist was raping the women who were about to give birth.
The doctor was arrested by police officer Bárbara Lomba, from the São João de Meriti Women’s Police Station. Lomba told G1 that they are now investigating to find out how many patients may have been raped by doctor Giovanni Quintella Bezerra.
The doctor’s defense has not yet made a statement.
